You’ll also find other articles about the brain and how our thoughts affect not just our feelings and behaviour, but overall well-being too.

I use self-hypnosis regularly for deep, refreshing relaxation; to stay positive and cope with the challenges life inevitably presents. Here I’ve written a few practical articles on how to get started with self-hypnosis as well as some techniques to boost your sense of health and well-being. Over the last 20 years there has been much research into the benefits of hypnosis for pain relief. As someone who has suffered from chronic pain for many years I know and fully appreciate the devastating effects it has on all aspects of our lives and being. It’s no surprise that helping chronic pain sufferers is close to my heart. By learning self-hypnosis techniques specifically aimed at reducing our mental perception of pain (amongst other methods) we can lead more positive lives with much reduced stress and emotional upset.
